Norway, the world’s biggest producer of farmed salmon, set a new monthly record for seafood exports as strong prices for the fish and higher volumes were amplified by a weak currency.
Exports for October grew to 18.4 billion kroner ($1.7 billion), the highest value ever for a single month, the Norwegian Seafood Council said in a statement on Thursday. The Norwegian currency has weakened about 6% against the dollar over the past 12 months.
