Norway, the world’s biggest producer of farmed salmon, exported an all-time high value of seafood in 2023 as the country’s weak currency and strong demand for the pink-fleshed fish boosted revenues.
Exports totaled 172 billion kroner ($17 billion) for the year, a 14% increase from the previous year, the Norwegian Seafood Council said in a statement on Thursday. Seafood was exported to 153 countries during the year, with Poland, Denmark, and the US its largest markets.
