The country’s antimonopoly watchdog has accused the Far Eastern Tefida of links with US-based Marine Fishing International.
Russia crab producer Tefida CJSC has been stripped of its crab quota after a court ruling found it to have ties with foreign ownership in the United States, according to Russian federal fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo.
Tefida’s total crab quota for 2022 amounted to more than 580 metric tons of king, blue and snow crab within fishing areas of Russia’s Far East.
The move comes at a time of upheaval in the global crab market.
